Jakim started his broadcasting career in 1999 with a two-station operation in Syracuse, NY. He also worked for a couple other radio groups in upstate and central New York before graduating in 2002 from Syracuse University. He then worked for a year with Crawford Broadcasting in Syracuse before moving to Indianapolis in June of 2003 to work for Pilgrim Communications (XL 950 AM and Freedom 95.9 FM).
Jakim's favorite sports teams are the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Lakers, St. Louis Cardinals, and any of the Syracuse sports squads, especially men's basketball and lacrosse.
